| Typhoon Melor is bearing down on Japan. Melor may be the most powerful storm to hit the main Japanese Islands in 10 years although it is now encountering unfavorable vertical wind shear. It is expected to make landfall west of Tokyo on Thursday as a minimal typhoon. |
